Our Coaches

Our Head Coaches come to us with great success in their backgrounds. Most recently as coaches of the 2005 Gwinnett County Swim League Champions, the Eastside Eels. The Eastside Eels beat all the odds to become the first small team (68 swimmers) to win the County Championship!

Rick Creed, Head Coach. Coach Creed recently earned his Ph.D. in Mathematics Education from Georgia State University.  Prior to that, he taught mathematics and coached swimming, football, and baseball from 1981-1984 at Redan High School, and from 1986-1991 at Stone Mountain High School.  From 1984 to 1986 he attended the University of Montana where he earned his Masters Degree in Mathematics Education.  In Montana, he was a graduate assistant in the Mathematics Department of the University of Montana and he coached both USS and high school swimming.  He went to high school at Towers High in DeKalb County where he held the school record for 100 breaststroke. He continued to be a standout swimmer at Georgia State where he held the school record for 200 breaststroke. He served one year as an assistant coach at GSU after graduation.  Equally as impressive, he was named captain of his college team his junior year.  Coach Creed is currently the President of the Georgia High School Swim Coaches Association and was the 2002 Parkview and Gwinnett County Teacher-of-the-Year.  He recently completed his second year as the Head Swimming Coach at Mill Creek High School where the girls finished in 10th place and the boys 26th at the recent High School Championship Meet. Coach Creed was also named the 2002 National High School Boys Swimming Coach of the Year.

Coach Creed enjoyed phenomenal success at Parkview. His and his teams’ honors include:
Boys State Champs – 1995, 1998, 2000, 2001, and 2002
Girls State Champs – 1997 and 1998
Boys Gwinnett County Champs - 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, and 2002
Girls Gwinnett County Champs – 1997, 1998
Georgia Coach of the Year – 1993, 1995, 1997, 2000, 2001, and 2002
Gwinnett Coach of the Year – 1993, 1994, 1996, and 1998
Heidi Creed, Head Coach. As an age-group swimmer, Heidi swam under Frank Keefe who, at present, is the coach for Yale University.  Just last year Frank Keefe was entered into the SWIMMING HALL OF FAME.  Heidi continued her love for the sport at Ohio University where she placed and competed in the Mid American Conference.   Heidi was also the Head USS coach for the Missoula Aquatic Club in Missoula Montana 1983-1985 where her team won two State Championships titles.  Heidi also coached two powerful USS swim programs in Atlanta Georgia, Dynamo Swim Club and Swim Atlanta.  Heidi has developed many age-group swimmers that are now competing at the Olympic Level and are top collage swimmers in the country.  Heidi continues her love for swimming as she nurtures young swimmers into the sport through Summer League Swimming in Gwinnett County.  Her dream is to one day have her own swimming facility so she can give many swimmers the opportunity to be great Athletes and people.  Heidi has been an Art Teacher for 17 years and at present she is teaching at Jones Middle School in Buford Georgia.  Heidi is also an illustrator and watercolor artist.  She has illustrated many schools in Gwinnett County and famous buildings in Washington D.C.  Heidi is married to Rick Creed and has two daughters named Marlie and Sommers.  Marlie and Sommers are both swimming for Swim Atlanta and are competing at the State and Sectional level respectively.  
Savannah Miller, Mini Wahoo Coach.

Savannah is a rising fourth year at Georgia Institute of Technology. She is majoring in Civil Engineering. She is a member of the Alpha Phi Sorority, American Society of Civil Engineers, and Campus Republican Party.  Savannah  swam competitively from age six to nineteen. She swam for both Swim Atlanta and Mill Creek High School. She lettered in swimming all four years at Mill Creek. Savannah is a swim instructor for Swim Atlanta, and our Mini Wahoo Coach. She has been coaching for Chateau Elan for five years. She is CRP/ First Aid Certified.


  Nicole Albrecht, Assistant Coach.

Nicole is a rising Sophomore at Georgia College and State University. She is also a graduate of Mill Creek High School where she lettered in swimming all four years. She was a year round swimmer at Swim Atlanta for 8 years before leaving for college last fall. She has been a Wahoo since the start of the team. This will be Nicole's third year as a coach for Chateau Elan.  She is also a swim Instructor for Swim Atlanta. Nicole is CPR/First Aid certified.

  Caitlin Doran, Assistant Coach

Caitlin in a rising Senior at West Hall High School where she is an honor student.  She has been swimming since the age of seven. She started and continues to swim at Swim Atlanta. She has lettered in swimming at West Hall High School. She was one of the Swim Team Captains at West Hall. Caitlin has also competed in the Gwinnett County Swim League Summer League for 9 years. She has been a Wahoo for five years. This will be Caitlin's second year coaching for Chateau Elan. She is CPR/ First aid certified.

  Katie Hayes, Assistant Coach

Katie is a rising junior at the University of Alabama. She is majoring in Public Relations in hopes of getting a job in Atlanta or Nashville and becoming a successful business woman. She had a ten year swimming career in summer league, year round swimming for Swim Atlanta, Mill Creek High School, and Greater Atlanta Christian School. She lettered in both high schools in swimming. She is a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority. This is Katie's first year coaching for Chateau Elan. She is both CPR and First Aid Certified.
  Kayla Ernst, Assistant Coach

Kayla was lived in Atlanta her entire life. She is a rising Junior at Mill Creek High School.  She tried almost every sport until she recovered swimming four years ago. Swimming became her passion. She has been a year round swimmer at Swim Atlanta four those four years. She also swims on the Mill Creek High School Team were she has lettered in swimming the past two years.  She has been on the Wahoo team for three years. This will be Kayla's first year as a coach. She is CPR/ First aid certified.


  Brent Parker, Assistant Coach

Brent is a rising sophomore at the University of Georgia majoring in Political Science in the pre-law program. He is a member of the Campus Republican Party and plays inter mural sports.  Brent has been swimming for eight years. He swam for both Swim Atlanta and Mill Creek High School He lettered in swimming all four years. He is a swim instructor at Swim Atlanta. This will be Brent's first year as a coach for Chateau Elan. He is CRP/First aid certified.
